The purse has a flap which slips into the slot on the back of the planner (see photo). It is wonderfully convenient way to carry both a planner and purse together. The planner and purse can be carried separately. The purse as seen in the photo or the strap can attach to D-rings on the back of the planner to be carried without the purse. The inside of the purse has 11 credit card slots and one ID slot. The planner has 4 credit cards slots and 2 currency on note pad slots. Planner uses Franklin Covey compact size pages and accessories. This planner/purse has definitely been used with the well worn look of fine leather on the inside and trim. There is a small ink spot along the zipper edge of the planner. There are no tears, cuts, frays, etc. Planner 8 1/2" x 7" 1 1/2 " deep Purse 7 1/2 x 5 1/4
